Moodboard trials!

  The movie I used was howls moving castle! The movie was made by Studio Ghibli in 2004 and is a dramatic fantasy romance based on a book of the same name. When I think of Howls Moving Castle, the first thing that comes to mind are gorgeous landscapes. The movie always has a very soft vibe despite its material being about a war. That soft, elegant vibe also reminds me of beautiful towns, and especially of flowers. The use of flora as imagery especially pink flowers immediately bring me back to watching this movie as a child. I think tulips are the best ones to reference, especially due to the famous scene, where Paul and Sophie truly show how much they’re in love. I have no idea what the flowers were in that scene, but to me they felt like tulips. I also think that soft, graceful, aesthetic is reminiscent of cooking, especially baking. And as a result, I also used making as part of my imagery.  I also immediately think of elegance. What better way to represent elegance than ad...

Sound Story!

New Post! So we did a sound story project, and I decided to make a sound story to describe a walk to Fort Lauderdale Beach of course, from the promenade to the ocean! I used a video editing software known as CapCut, it has a video interface that lets me extract the sounds of videos. It was useful, and I’ve used it before, but there were things that were a bit difficult to understand here and there.   CapCut lets me extract audio from videos, which helped a lot for me to make the sounds required. I also figured out how to drown out outside noise from foleywork, and layering sound too.  Being able to upload sounds successfully was a huge struggle, especially because the websites I found couldn’t download much onto my iPad, and duplicating sounds definitely weighed me down for a while. It was also pretty hard to differentiate the sounds after uploading them! Despite the bonus of the extracting tool, it’s pretty hard to deal with a bunch of video extracts that I can’t change ...
