Sound Story!

New Post! So we did a sound story project, and I decided to make a sound story to describe a walk to Fort Lauderdale Beach of course, from the promenade to the ocean!

I used a video editing software known as CapCut, it has a video interface that lets me extract the sounds of videos. It was useful, and I’ve used it before, but there were things that were a bit difficult to understand here and there.

CapCut lets me extract audio from videos, which helped a lot for me to make the sounds required. I also figured out how to drown out outside noise from foleywork, and layering sound too.

Being able to upload sounds successfully was a huge struggle, especially because the websites I found couldn’t download much onto my iPad, and duplicating sounds definitely weighed me down for a while. It was also pretty hard to differentiate the sounds after uploading them! Despite the bonus of the extracting tool, it’s pretty hard to deal with a bunch of video extracts that I can’t change the title of.

If I could redo the project, I’d definitely make it longer and incorporate more foley. Id also add some more ambiance and humor to engage the audience more!
