Prepping to Film!

 Alright so film prep!!

There's a few things we need to discuss, starting with the fact that we've confirmed just having 2 characters/actors. Me and Tuyetnhi will be acting for this project! we actually decided on this mainly based on budget and location. 

Costumes- So as previously stated, J fashion is extremely important to this project. I had plenty of ideas from Pinterest but decided on two looks; a brighter pink style (such as yumekawa or hime gyaru) for me, and a darker style (gothic lolita-esque) for Tuyetnhi! budget wise we have most of the clothes and accessories, but we did need to get some more here and there for Tuyetnhis style. ill be doing the makeup and accessories if necessary by the way!

Locations/Set- We'll be confining it to just my room in this aspect. For most of these scenes the main things I want to use is a desk space and bathroom space! Because we want the film to have an overall homey feel this will work pretty well in our favor. I also think of the atter part, having a space that feels extremely enclosed helps with that. set design is gonna be pretty fun though!

Props- as seen on the storyboard, accessories, plush toys and other trinkets are important to the plot. However I also need to get beads, because I want to do a cool idea of making the title sequences with lettered beads! props are important as you cant have a whimsy or childish feel in that space with no whimsy or childish objects. 

Dates/Times- weekends and breaks. Honestly maybe some early releases here and there but as were in this class, we're aice students with a lot on our plate! its best to save the filming for weekends because of that. 

Film equipment- This is probably the main part we haven't discussed as much. One thing I thought of is using a computer cam to copy the low quality film camera in the actual story for some scenes. Otherwise we may be limited to an I phone camera and stand or Beacon recording equipment potentially!

Finally, heres our script! Tuyetnhi took pretty strong creative liberties with this one and did better than i ever could honestly. 

FADE IN:SLOW

1. IN. HOUSE - TEDDY’S BEDROOM - AFTERNOON

Lights illuminated throughout the room as soft music plays in the background, a warm cozy room slowly comes into view. 

WHIP PANS: QUICK

Flashes of close up shots appear of various makeup, hair pieces, earrings and necklaces come into frame with a flurry of whips and sudden movements. The sound of stumbling feet is heard as a figure comes into the camera. Gazing into the camera to look at their reflection, their face appears. 

ZOOM OUT: SLOW

Teddy Jones, 15, bedazzled with an array of jewelry. Her makeup is bright and full of glitter. She has her hair done with a huge flower placed within it. Her outfit is full of glam and excessive accessories. A matching plush with similar accessories is held in her arms. 

TEDDY

(excited)

”Waugh~, this loooks so nice, thank you for the new stuff! And for coming over of course, Tuyetnhi!”

Teddy squeals happily and dances around, throwing her plush in the air, a small giggle is heard in the background. 

OVERHEAD SHOT: SLOW

As the plush flies into the air, the toy pauses in the air for a moment before transitioning into another plush as it flies down into the arms of another girl’s arms. Her back and arms outstretched looking at it as she turned to the camera before quickly turning around to show her face with the plushie squished to her face. 

TURNAROUND: QUICK

TUYETNHI

(cheery) 

”No problem, besides~ it's been quite a while since we met up like this, no? I mean like practically I feel like I've been pulled out of my coffin. Ack! Life is too busy nowadays hm?

The two friends laughed softly, enjoying each other’s presence, pressing their heads against each other as they sat close ready to watch something on the laptop. The screen flashes open with a little cartoon of the girl’s plushies being characters on screen acting silly with one another, causing the girls to giggle. 

ZOOM IN: SLOW

In between fits of laughter, the friends’ eyes meet one another as they quiet down from their joyful high, taking a moment to appreciate the other’s presence as they smile and make a little pinky promise at each other and laugh once more again for no reason. 

(CAMERA SHOT MOVE)

Suddenly a car beeps outside signaling for Tuyetnhi that it’s time for her to leave now as her face turn into shock then slowly into regret as she turned to her friend.

TUYETNHI

(wistful) 

“Ugh, time is way too fast for us, isn’t it? How unfortunate that we can’t enjoy these little things anymore soon? I hope we can continue these little moments a bit more… Goodbye my friend, until next time, okay?”

Waving goodbye as her shoes clack against the floorboard in a rush to leave the house, Teddy face slowly falls as the door closes with a click as the clatter of steps rushed away. The sound slowly fading away from the once glimmering room alongside her friend. 

ZOOM OUT: SLOW

IN. TEDDY’S BATHROOM

Teddy sighs as she gazes at the door, picking herself up the door, she slowly removes her outfit; the accessories, the clothes, the accessories, the makeup.

IN. TEDDY’S CLOSET

Stripped of her identity as her clothes are scattered throughout the room, in entirely new clothes, she stares into the mirror, feeling strange at the sight of herself not being recognizable.
