Ooooooo Transitions!

So for this part I did another thing with my figures! I’m also buying some stickers for my potential final film (oooo!) but we should get right into it!   This scene to start was a simple wipe going down. I decided to play around with the passage of time here. What happened? Who knows? I was playing around with mystery a lot this time and i’ll continue to! Now this video is pretty simple to start, using a dissolve! I kind of wish I did a fade to black… that would be wayyy more haunting!! but this still works I guess. This may (or may not) be a crime recorded on camera?! I wonder what the little guy did? Match Cut/Smash Cut! This was so much fun, even though it was simple using this as a confrontation scene was my favorite! It reminds me a lot of cowboy movies, and despite it looking a little silly, think its just really fitting with the vibe of the figures im using. Thats all!! I did some editing to this post and switched up my focus on some parts, (also the text didn’t show up at ...

WOAH!!! (Film Studies!)

I’m super excited for this blog!!!! Today I will be analyzing and appreciating some scenes from what’s currently my favorite animated show, “bee and puppycat!’ I know originally this assignment was meant more for films with real people, or at the very least a 3D animated films, but I think 2D animation can be really difficult and done expertly well. And as a future 2D animation student, I really wanted to focus in on a 2D animated film! Plus, I think this show is absolutely gorgeous!!! Starting With this gorgeous Establishing-Full shot of Deckards Room! This scene is huge to represent Deckards turning point of wanting to go to Cooking Prince Academy, and talking to his twin sister Cas about it. The room has nods to his siblings, most notably the pattern on the carpet that looks like howls cape from Howls Moving Castle, which his older brother Howell is named after. The juxtaposition of those reminders of his family in contrast to the decision he is making in this scene, holds a lo...

Some Classmate Critiques!

Hello! So, post number 3 has me critiquing my buddies. Fun! I’m a mess and a half, but here we go, I guess. 1: Tu’s Pompompurin Despair! First of all,  Tuyetnhi’s use of a plush for this project made me feel a bit better about my silly figure and collectible usage. This gave off a nostalgic vibe; it kind of reminds me of those adorable doll role-play videos that many would make as kids! The second shot was haunting, absolutely haunting. The slow dolly shot, changing it from a closeup to a pompom grin in contrast to the wide shot with the haunting background, gives a loss of sense of self. How terrifying! This, in addition to the third shot of pompurin seemingly facing to the ground in a top-down shot, really just sends a shiver down my spine. 2: Indirahs Serene Garden! I love the focus on the scenery. Seriously, oh my goodness, the scenery really is amazing. I really love how, even with a variety of shots, everything feels so calm and at peace. The camerawork is doing great! My fav...
